== Relinquish all activities unto Me! Devoid of egotism and expectation, with your attention concentrated on the soul, free from feverish worry, be engaged in the battle of activity Lord Krishna says to Arjuna 3:30 ==

This verse has tremendous meaning - it holds a deep summary of Karma Yoga (The Philosophy of Action). The verse encourages us to carry out actions as acts of devotion devoid of expectations and desires. It is a truly revolutionary thought - most of our actions are driven by what we get out of them. Most actions I do even now are driven by the expectation of a result like more financial gains, recognition, higher status, sexual conquest etc. Imagine for a moment a state where actions were done without expectations - the obvious questions that come to mind are will the action be as powerful, effective, efficient without the desire driving it? What would motivate one to carry out an action? Why would I push myself beyond my comfort zones to achieve something? All these questions emenate because there is more context around the verse that needs to be understood for a better understanding of this potent verse.

In deep meditation the action energy in us reinvigorates, sharpens, becomes more precise and intelligent. Meditation - reverse of a brainstorm is possibly the greatest creativity technique available to humans beyond the IDEO brainstorms - here lies a power deep and profound that can transform the human condition as we know it. In that state of deep meditation ('concentration on the soul') the seeds of a vision can be laid based on free will that drive action (over time actions becomes efforless). Actions emenate as ripples in a pond in which a pebble (vision) is dropped. These actions need to be performed for the vision to realize. These actions when performed while grounded in meditation wihout expectations bring precise results. Expectations, desires only cause one to waver in action and bring weak results as energy is expended in justifying, getting motivated and expecting for the results. Let all actions be an offering let them be free of expectations and keep the attention inward - let's see what happens.
